The Belanger Books Journal of Sherlock Holmes and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Inspired Stories, Poems, and Scholarship
This all new edition of the journal is divided into two sections. The first part includes poetry, fiction, and scholarship focused on the writings and life of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The second part of the journal features all new Sherlock Holmes centered stories, poems, and essays. The Sherlock Holmes stories are traditional and written in the Watsonian voice.
Selections from the Doyle section include an essay arguing that The Lost Worldis as important to science fiction as Sherlock Holmes is to mysteries; a poem inspired by Doyle’s “Lot No. 249”; a sequel to Doyle’s story “The Usher of Lea House School”; and an article exploring Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s contributions to… cosplay!
Selections from the Sherlock Holmes section include an all new adventure teaming the great detective and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle; a mystery involving a body which seems to have disappeared into thin air; a story involving a partnership between Mary Morstan and Irene Adler; an article on all the references to magic in the Sherlock Holmes Canon as well as in the Granada series; poems about the great detective; a sea shanty on The Gloria Scott; and an essay on the real locations from The Valley of Fear.
